Soundtruck – Voodoo – cd – Self-Release

From the holy temples and shrines in Athens, Greece is hailing Soundtruck to please and tease you by their Southern & Heavy Rock. The band was formed in 2008. A lot of positive occurences have happened since their first self-titled cd. The current lineup consists of Romanos Alex on lead vocals; Vassilis Panagopoulos on guitars; Greg Apostolopoulos on guitars; Dimitris Lykakis on bass and George Kalaitzoglou on drums. They have gained creativity and professionalism by various tours, also in Italy and renowned festivals like Suwalki Blues Festival. The definite band-highlight was to play as opener for Lynyrd Skynyrd in 2012! From the cd-cover, definitely to be an eye-catcher a voodoo priest and his ape-companion are spreading their spells. No fear no bad hoodoo should harm you. Soundtruck would like to haunt you positively by their second strike “Voodoo”! Hell Yeah…

The opener “Seniorita” is musically a heavy rocker with a southern spirit, lyrically it has by title a Spanish Stroll. Goerge proves by his opening beats that he is a skilful drummer. George’s canto is absolutely powerful, well-fitting and bourbon-trenched. The absolute top-notches of the title are the axe-duets of Vassilis and Greg. Mighty thunderstruck-opener. The consecutive “Heading Your Way” is a rockin* and boozin* southern-metallic liquorice and George keeps the demons away by his shouts. By “The Wind Is Blowing” Soundtruck prove their sound- and song-composition variety. A tune combinging a sound-mix of The Doobie Brothers and The Marshall Tucker Band. The calmer canto is absolute exciting and pleasant. The culminations are again the six-string therapies, on top with a slide-solo as variations. “Time To Change” is a sensitive southern ballad by style. “Voodoo” as title track of the cd is the absolutely haunting-beautiful southern rocker. Stunning slow opening by guitar, before the rhythm section sets in with busting bass rhythms by Dimitris. The notch are again the axe-duels. “The Calling” sounds absolutely modern, a great blend of southern rock’n-metal featuring fantastic rhythm grooves, fervent chant and an extravagant slide-guitar-jam. The final track is by “The Train” with fingerpicking acoustic guitar-intro and slow, full of passion canto. Afterwards is to evolve a classic jam by excellence continuing the legacy of the Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet and Blackfoot. Hell of a starry southern rock-hymn to bid farewell!

Great, dynamic sound-production on top by George Florakis.

Voodoo” by Soundtruck a phenomenal southern-rock orgasmatron! Satisfaction guaranteed to the pleasance of the Lord Of The Pandemonium, All Witches & Demons and off course you!
