The Dead Daisies – “Burn It Down” – cd – SPV/Spitfire Music – # 285942

The Dead Daisies are back with their 4th studio strike “Burn It Down”. Any changes regarding the band? Oh yeah behind the drum-kit is now the one and only Deen Castronovo. Definitely great news as he is ever so enchanting besides his virtuoso drumming technique on background or even lead vocals – hell yeah!  Hey folks, it’s springtime, nothing better to wake up from your winter’s sleeping beauty phase by The Dead Daisies! “Burn It Down” will definitely kick your ass finally again, haha.

Attention!!! By the first track “Resurrected” there will be from the very first tune a loud-blast of a big bang from your speakers. A dynamite hard rock cracker with a modern alternative touch. The lord of canto John Corabi explodes forcefully on vocals and the middle jam axe-duel-inferno by Doug Aldrich and David Lowy is “Over The Rainbow”. Marco Mendoza on bass and Deen on drums are the rhythm pandemonium kings. “Rise Up” is a cracker with very melodious guitar solos and phenomenal harmony vocals. Mister Corabi has never been better on chant, vow. The title song “Burn It Down” is a big, heavy stadium rocker. This would have definitely been a hit in the good ole 80’ies, attracting x-thousand fans to big stadiums or venues worldwide. “Judgement Day” is a beautiful hard-rock ballad featuring Doug as bluesy six-stringer by the intro and close-out, on top John as rotatory sensitive and powerful songster.  “What Goes Around” is a wild hard rock’n roller taking you on a ear-blowing, orgasmatronic rollercoaster ride. By “Set Me Free” TDD grant you some relax moments, surprisingly by the guitar-artistry even with a bluesy country-buckshot. By “Dead And Gone” the Daisies are more into heavy metal than ever. As Doug has been cooperating a lot with David Coverdale “Cant Take It With You” is kind of a reminiscence to the Coverdale-Deep-Purple-Era! “Revolution” as bonus and final track is the hooky, goovin’ and full of cryptomite cover-version of The Beatles” song. Play It loud to your neighbours at midnite, they’ll either shriek out or jump joyously on their beddies and bang their heads, haha. It electrifies the grand style.

Producer Marti Frederiksen; Anthony Fox (Mix) and Howie Weinberg (Mastering) have done hell of a job by the production!
