THE BLUESBONES – Saved By The Blues – CD

If you would like to get hooked by a new cd-masterwork of blues- & blues-rock you do not need to keep an eye on the U.S.A! To strike you should have a look at Belgium and its captivating and rich blues-bands culture. You can spin your bottle as often as you like at the potter’s wheel  in early 2015 – It always will get stuck and hit at “Saved By the Blues” by the phenomenal THE BLUESBONES!

“Find Me A Woman” is the electrifying opening song dominated by the powerful drum-plays of Dominique Christens, slide-guitar-solos by Stef Paglia and the enchanting canto by Nico De Cock. The BB-boys are so charming and seductive by this Mississippi-Delta style blues. They will attract any woman-groupies within seconds  if they are in liberty or allowed to at a show, haha. “I’m On The Road Again” is the steamy and funk-jazzy second track featuring stirring guitar-duels between Stef and former member Andy Aerts on second guitar. “I Try” introduces the new band-member Edwin Risbourg on keyboards and Hammond. Sensitive and fervid six-string-solos combine with the coziness of the keyboard-solos and the hot-blooded chant. This  presents the new sound of The Bluesbones. Staggering***** – Chapeau – Messieurs! The consecutive title “The Devil’s Bride” as absolute highlight of the cd showcases some hellish hot Texas-blues-rock. Misters De Cock and Paglia roar and play ever so highly-explosive to please the “Mistress Of The Underworld” and to keep the deuce’s fire burning. “I’m Still Your Man” next is featuring ever so movin’ bass-rhythms by Ronald Burssens and a phenomenal jam-part by duelling guitars, vocals and the sizzling Hammond solos. “Saved By The Blues” is the funky and groovy rhythm-dance song. THE BLUESBONES hit you by their “Rhythm Stick”! ”Moonshine” is a rollin’ and tumblin’ southern-hymn inspiring you to enjoy some bourbon whiskey, to dance with your bride and to make love with her. The “devil’s slinger” Stef plays some red-hot slide-guitar-solos and Edwin contributes some Hammond-sounds which remind you by shut eyes of the flow of the Mississippi river.  The heat goes on by musical passion by “Crazy”. The BB take you on a adventure-exploration sound-trip  to the Grand Canyon. Hey Mister Tarantino listen to this goodie! “Call Me” features some astounding bass- rhythms by the groove-master Ronald and Nico’s voice is trenched by soul and he even stuns by some rap-phrases. “Runaway” pays tribute to the left-handed guitar-god Jimi Hendrix by the starry guitar-solos. The Bones are such master song-composers and artists to present a dynmical, modern song in legacy to the master. The guitars are jammin’ so heavenly. Sorry, no chance for the devil to get them as his pandemonium orchestra! The final track “Wrong” is a meditative blues-ballad as intro-sequence which crosses-over to a middle axe-bass-drums-jam and a final, relaxing chant by the ceremony-vocalist De Cock.

By every rotation in your cd-player you get more aware of the whole “Magnum Opus” and discover new sounds!
