‘Soul Station’ is the optimum opener to spread excellent caprice. Groovy funky bass by Billy White and a Joanne Shaw Taylor immediately playing the blues-guitar of her life! She starts by her solos rather slowhanded, but then she goes wild! What stunning Gibson Les-Paul guitar-extravagance. Absolutely breathtaking. Hey, all you guitar-gods called Joe Bonamassa or Eric Clapton watch out… She will hi-jack your minds! By the second title she grants her auditors a little break, smooth relaxing guitar-play, but this song is fascinating by her monumental voice. Some good old bourbon or highland malt-whiskey have matured her voice. On top some seasoned keyboard play of David Garza. ‘You Should Stay, I Should Go’ was definitely inspired by her numerous travels in the South of the USA. A cool-breeze is blowing and J.J. Cale can be titled definitely influential. The next song ‘Piece Of The Sky’ has specially by Miss Taylor’s voice a rockin’ gospel-touch. The absolute highlight is following by ‘Army Of One’. Heavenly fingerstyle guitar-picking and an angelic voice by Joanne. Absolutely stirring and topped by the tambours by J.J. Johnson on drums. Billy and J.J. are creating a unique sound-floor, intensified by ghostly, gothic vocals and again a guitar-solo towards the end by the mistress of ceremony which can be titled as Hades Creation. ‘Always Always Never’ proves how she is full of love and harmony. ‘Tied & Bound’ proves that the lady can really rock by the grace of her lord too, the guitar-play intensified by a Texas-twang. She had recorded this masterpiece in Austin, Tx. By ‘A Hand of Love’ you could imagine being at the front of the Mississippi river, relaxing and enjoying the calmative flow and atmosphere. ‘Standing To Fall’ is rockin’ again and Madame Taylor keeping by her singing the demon away from her white soul. Imagine Saturday night and hell of a party goin’ on; the lady of your dreams denies a dance with you… Then you have the right song to enjoy a liquor and to dance by yourself and to pass by this woman telling her when you are relieved from this stress ‘Maybe Tomorrow’. ‘Lose Myself To Loving You’ is the soulful closure of this most anticipated oeuvre.
